TV report from 40/29 ABC News in Fayetteville reports on the installation of Tahoma 31 Bermjudagrass at Razorbacks Stadium.
“The new grass is called Tahoma 31. Experts say that’s the best kind to grow in a climate like Arkansas.”
Reported on August5: The Tahoma 31 blend made its way to Fayetteville today from Memphis. The installation process began this morning and athletics director Hunter Yurachek said the grass should be completely rooted within a week.
When Coach Chad Morris came to the University of Arkansas, he asked for natural grass to replace the turf that was installed in 2009 during the Bobby Petrino era. Because of the construction to the north end zone during last offseason, natural grass wasn’t a possibility then.
Athletic Director Yurchak said ten other SEC schools have natural grass, so the Hogs are used to that surface.
